Must shafts always be made of metal? For the better player the Mike Klais thinks wooden shafts are absolutely suitable. “These have their own flair for playing”, says the clubfitter from Chiemgau. But wooden shafts are only something for experienced players. If you can hit at least 120 metres with a seven iron in the men’s game and play in a controlled manner, and at least 100 metres in the women’s game, then these shafts are the right choice.
“Customers report that you touch the clubs and it automatically goes better,” says Mike Klais. Because the wood is a natural material, the resonance vibrations are different from those of a steel sheep. And metal always has an antenna effect to which some people react sensitively.
