Born in Czechoslovakia, raised in Hesse and Bavaria, at home in Las Vegas: Alex Cejka is a cosmopolitan who has been representing German golf at major tournament series for over 20 years and has proven one thing above all: nothing can knock him down.
His colleagues christened him “Ironman” because he can take so much pain. “The Süddeutsche Zeitung called him the “Charlie Brown of golf” because he is so attracted to bad luck. Back and wrist, neck and foot – there is hardly a part of the body that has not been pinched, broken or sprained. Some time ago, a mysterious grass allergy was added to the list. Not exactly the ideal illness for a golf professional.
But Cejka takes it and fights. He can even laugh while doing so and is therefore one of the favourites of fans and colleagues. He always likes to invite them to play games during the training game. After all, he doesn’t live in Las Vegas for nothing.
