Major champion, world number one, popular figure: Martin Kaymer has sparked a golfing enthusiasm in Germany like only Bernhard Langer before him. The Rhinelander has even partly surpassed the Bavarian old master – with eight weeks he was last year five weeks longer at the top of the golf world rankings than Langer once was.
In 2003, he was invited to play his first professional tournament at the BMW International Open: at 18, he made the cut right away. And because he loves cars, it was almost a matter of honour that he was the first German to win the BMW International Open in 2008. He has also been representing BMW and Schüco worldwide as brand ambassador for several years now.
