The Baden-Württembergische Golfverband e.V. (BWGV) is pleased to announce that the 2nd Environmental Symposium will take place on 04 October 2023 at Hofkammer Golfclub Domäne Niederreutin. This event, dedicated to environmental protection, biodiversity and sustainability in golf, promises to be an inspiring platform for golf enthusiasts, environmentalists:and professionals from the golf industry.
The Environmental Symposium will feature a series of presentations and opportunities for exchange aimed at sharpening the theme “Golf Course Habitat – We Promote Biodiversity”. With a wide range of topics including, for example, “Is brown the new green?” and “Opportunities to promote landscape conservation measures.”, the symposium will present topical issues.
Association President Otto Leibfritz, commented on this important event, “We are proud to host the BWGV’s 2nd Environmental Symposium. The Golf Association’s goal is to promote environmental protection in golf and to have a positive impact on our community and the environment. We are confident that this symposium will play a significant role in educating our members and golf clubs on best practices in environmental protection.”
“A highlight of the symposium will be the presentation by Prof. Dr. Kollmann, a renowned environmental expert in the field of ecology,” said BWGV Environmental Committee Chairman Prof. Dr. Martin Elsäßer. Kollmann will provide insights into how ecologically valuable golf courses are for the landscape.
The environmental symposium is open to two representatives from each BWGV member club as well as media representatives. Participants will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge, make contacts and take part in discussions aimed at making golf more sustainable.
