Henrik Stenson, number 3 in the world rankings, has probably the most powerful set of clubs in the world. Henrik, who was born in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1976, is a man of taste, a man of precision, a man of elegance. The golfer with the nickname “Iceman” and nerves of steel was certainly the most outstanding player of 2013, winning three tournaments and going down in history as the first golfer to win the FedExCup in the USA and the Race to Dubai in Europe that same year.
Henrik Stenson & BMW
The Swede is combining some of the best weeks of his life with the BMW International Open. In 2006 he won the tournament in Munich – and three Sundays later, he was so inspired that he putt to European victory in the Ryder Cup. Stenson has celebrated other major triumphs, such as victories at the World Golf Matchplay Championship and the Players’ Championship. And he became famous for a legendary striptease. At the 2009 CA Championship in Miami, he stripped down to his underwear and golf glove to hit a ball out of the water. The golf world was partly prudishly touched, partly learned: Behind the cool facade is a very special guy. Stenson lives in Dubai, has a wonderfully dry sense of humour and with Fanny Sunesson, a woman to caddie. She also comes from Sweden, used to carry the bag for golf legend Nick Faldo and now also advises Martin Kaymer.
